Environment

We are committed to minimising the impact of our business operations on the environment.

Climate

We aim to reduce carbon emissions from our core business and value chain, and enhance our resilience to climate change.

We are investing in projects to reduce carbon emissions within our operations and will set more ambitious carbon reduction targets that align with The Paris Agreement to limit global temperature increase within 1.5°C.

Electricity from renewable sources is cheaper than ever before and emerging technologies allow us to store energy in a cost-effective way. Beyond electricity, sustainable liquid-fuels and waste-derived biogases are emerging with the potential to reduce carbon emissions from generators, logistics, gas and oil burning.

Waste

We aim to reduce the waste from our core business operations going to landfill.

Waste recovery and recycling systems in our locations of operation are at varying stages of maturity. This means our businesses will need to develop location-specific waste reduction and recycling programmes.

Reducing the volume of materials our operating companies use is an effective way of minimising environmental impact and operating costs. We should always seek to maximise the amount that we divert to landfills and ideally ensure that any waste we do produce are reused, recycled or composted. In the transition to a circular economy, recycling businesses are willing to pay well for good quality materials from well-segregated waste streams.

Water

We aim to reduce the water used in our core business operations and safeguard water resources in the regions we operate.

Our main businesses are aircraft engineering and maintenance service. Such activities have the tendency to negatively impact water systems and therefore, minimising water use and always returning it to nature cleanly and safely is key to our business.

By complying with local water discharge requirements, our operating companies can preserve nature effectively. We also invest in water efficiency technologies and encourage best practices on water use and discharge in order to reduce costs, and contribute to global efforts towards maintaining clean and safe water for all.

Suppliers

We aim to partner with suppliers to deliver sustainable procurement practices.

Sustainability is about identifying and preempting risks that may impact financial stability. Our commitments will help us anticipate and adapt to the needs and expectations of our stakeholders, and allow the Group or operating companies to be a preferred supplier.

A new generation of consumers and B2B customers expect higher standards from their suppliers. Therefore, we manage our procurement with low impact and highly sustainable supply chains. Focusing on the three priorities within HAECO Sustainability Vision will give us the opportunity to develop products and services that meet these needs. At the same time, we can improve our price competitiveness. For example, driving for eco-efficiency such as energy use and packaging reduction can translate directly into lower input costs that can be passed onto our customers.
